· Johnnie Walker
Originally whiskies were blended to create a consistent and smooth flavour. Merchants would buy casks of whisky from different distilleries to create "their" own flavour. A blended scotch contains the marriage of single malts from many different distilleries and regions. Some blends like johnnie walker's black label use as many as 40. The age on the bottle denotes the age of the youngest whisky.
