· The Highland Malts · Glenmorangie · Glengoyne Distillery The distillery is situated on the shore of the Dornach Firth, close to the Royal Burgh of Tain, one of the oldest towns in Scotland. This northern highland distillery was established in 1843, however the earliest written record of distilling is 1703. Glenmorangie is Scotland's most popular malt. The different wood finishes are very satisfying and elegant; I find them all extremely smooth. 10 year old A whiff of the sea comes a flowery sweetness with creamy, malty sweet tones and a long finish.   18 year old An aromatic, nutty malt that is smooth and hot with a spicy finish.   vintage 1971 The flavours that surround this delectable malt are unimaginable. This is one of the finest whiskies ever produced.   madeira wood finish At least 12 years old this malt was finished in maderira casks to bring out slight winery flavours that are cool on the palate yet spicy on the tongue.   port wood finish When transferred into port wood casks for the final few years of maturation leaving aromas of dark chocolate and butterscotch with fresh minty notes, the finish reveals just a hint of port.   sherry wood finish Matured for at least 12 years in american white oak casks then racked in sherry casks to finish this malt with full bodied sherry notes and a sweet nuttiness with a long warm finish
