Scapa

Pernod Ricard are the current owners of this Orkney Island distillery which was founded in 1885 on a cliff high above the waters of Scapa Flow where time began.  With a spotty production history, during 1997 and 2004 the distillery was operating only a few months a year by the staff of Highland Park, the new owners are in a second phase of refurbishment.  As with the maturation of whisky, only time will tell how the production and subsequent bottlings from Scapa will please the palate.
